Altered States

This is a sculptural 2-D artwork using old license plates that have been cut, striped, rusted or deconstructed. The pieces are layered and assembled to form a cross-country perspective as each item is from a different state. I used old license plates from different states because I like the shape and colors of each one. And together, they make a statement about America, how we are all chopped up into our own little corners but together we are one.
